Week 8 Part A: How to Expand your Reach on Instagram by Using Hashtags

 @sophieolivemarketing

For Sophie it does seem effective she uses it to help people improve their online presence. She is only using hashtags on photos some hashtags are #marketingcoach, #growyourbusiness, #smallbusinessadvice, #onlinemarketing, #instagramforbusiness, #socialmediacontent and etc. She uses about 30 hashtags similar to the ones I have listed on every Instagram photo post. Right now this account has 9,498 followers on Instagram. She posts about every day. Sometimes she makes reels or she posts regular photos. I would say that her Instagram reels get the most response because it is a little bit more interactive. Her last post was 2 days ago. She gets around 380 likes on average for each post compared to her followers which is not too bad. She gets around 80 comments on average which isn't too bad either. I could use more hashtags and maybe start posting reels to engage my followers a little bit more.

For Carole it also seems effective she uses Instagram to bring in clients but also posts about how to improve your online presence. She does not use hashtags from what I can see. She has 26.5k followers on Instagram and she posts about every other day. She also makes reels and she seems to be getting a lot of responses that she also has long captions that make people engage in a discussion which I thought was interesting. The last post she has made was 10 hours ago. She gets around 700 likes on average and about 100 comments on average. This isn't too bad but could be better because of the big following she has. She is doing long captions which I find interesting I always thought short and sweet captions were the best but I like that she is having people discuss in the comments. It will give her more engagement also.

For Krys, it does seem effective because of her small following it is nice to see effective content. She uses hashtags like #mondaymotivationalquotes, #smallcreators, #smallbizsupport, #supportsmallshops, #copywriter, #socialmediahelp and etc. She tends to relate the hashtags to what she is talking about in the post. She has 83 followers. She posts about every 4 days and the post that got the most response was the first posts she got 33 likes. Her last post was made 4 days ago and the follower engagement isn't too bad for the number of followers that she has. Depending on the post she can get about 7 comments to 0 comments per post. I like that even though she has a small following her content and insight is still very rich. She seems very driven and it shows in her content.

Instagram does and doesn't seem effective for this account. The posts are informational and pretty but they do not show their face so it kinda feels like a robot is posting. They are using hashtags like #quotes, #newinstagram #engagement, #smallbusinessowner, #socialmedia, #marketing and etc. They have 2,947 followers. They posts about every 5 days and the content that gets the most engagement are the most informational posts. Their last post was made 5 days ago and they get different likes every post some get 23 likes some get 71 likes and some get 91 likes. It is hard to tell if their followers are engaging or not but the likes to follower ratio are interesting to look at. They do not receive many comments either. For this account being a digital marketing account, they could step up their game a little and make their content a little bit better and maybe post more often also.

Some hashtags that will work well for my Instagram are, #growyourbusiness, #socialmediacontent, #smallbizclub, #Instagramgrowth, #digitalmarketing101, #marketingcoach and #socialmedia101. I need to start to use a lot more hashtags on my posts to get the most from them. Instagram is interesting to look at because smaller accounts that do the same thing as the bigger accounts don't get nearly as much recognition. Instagram seems to be about how loyal you are to the app and how long you have been on the app to get the most followers and engagement.
